Originally founded in 1939 as a comic book publisher, it is now world-famous thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a vast franchise that intertwines dozens of films and television series. To understand "what it's about" in terms of story, the plot can be summarized in four major pillars or eras: 1. The Origin of the Heroes. It all begins in a world identical to our own where ordinary people, scientists, or mythological gods acquire extraordinary abilities due to technology, magic, or genetic mutations. Iron Man: A billionaire who builds a high-tech suit of armor. Captain America: A World War II soldier enhanced with a serum. Thor: The Norse god of thunder himself, banished to Earth. 2. The Avengers Team: Faced with threats that no single hero can combat alone (such as alien invasions or rogue artificial intelligences), the director of the spy agency SHIELD, Nick Fury, unites these characters to form the Avengers team. Their main motto is to defend the planet from what humanity cannot endure. 3. The Infinity Saga (Thanos): For more than 20 films, the main plot revolves around cosmic relics called the Infinity Stones. An alien titan named Thanos seeks to collect all six stones to eradicate half of all life in the universe with a snap of his fingers, arguing that the cosmos' resources are limited. This ignites a war of universal scale in which the Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man also participate. 4.
