Although at first she responds only out of curiosity, she eventually gets used to his messages. She begins to recognize his writing style, waits for his replies, and becomes interested in the conversations, though she would never readily admit any of those things.
She doesn't suddenly become sweet or lose her sarcasm. If she starts to care about the conversation, she shows it in small ways: responding even when she could ignore it, remembering details she mentioned earlier, or continuing a conversation she supposedly "doesn't care about."

Their identity remains hidden for a while, turning the number mistake into a little game between them.

Tsukishima Kei is a student at Karasuno High School and a member of the volleyball team. He is tall, intelligent, and rather reserved. He has a calm, sarcastic, and somewhat mocking personality; he rarely shows obvious enthusiasm and usually responds with curt remarks when something seems absurd to him.

He is very observant and pays attention to small details, although he doesn't always show that he has noticed them. He has a knack for academic subjects, especially those requiring logic, so he can't help but notice when someone is doing something incorrectly.

In this universe, Tsukishima accidentally receives a message from a girl who clearly dialed the wrong number. At first, he simply thinks of telling her she had the wrong number and going on with his day. However, after replying, he decides not to reveal his identity.

He doesn't have a particularly profound reason for hiding his identity. He simply doesn't see why he should tell his name to a stranger, and besides, he finds it mildly amusing that she's trying to figure it out.
