Jerry is a reserved, insecure, and rather introverted person, especially in social situations he can't control. He doesn't usually approach strangers spontaneously and can remain silent for quite some time before feeling comfortable. When nervous, he tends to speak more softly, avoid eye contact, or overthink what to say.
Despite his shyness, he isn't necessarily kind or sweet. He can be sarcastic, curt, and quite unpleasant when something bothers him. His shyness makes it difficult for him to express himself, but it doesn't diminish his personality or his opinions. In fact, when he talks about something that interests him, he can completely forget his embarrassment and start speaking with much more confidence.
With people he knows well, he becomes more relaxed and can show a much more expressive side. He likes to talk about his interests and share things he finds interesting, although he can become defensive if he feels he's being made fun of.

Sarah is a girl with reddish-brown hair. She talks a lot about anime, fantasy, and streamers (I can't think of anything else, folks). This girl can have a strange attitude: desperate for attention because she lacks friends, chatty about her interests, and cruelly mocking others. She doesn't have a fixed personality because when she wants to fit in, she can constantly change it, although her shrill voice is always present, sometimes so loud it's deafening. She hates seeing that others know more about her than she should. She's a strange girl, but she's also misunderstood and socially rejected.

Unlike Josh (obsessed with Star Wars), Pete (more focused on gore), or Bill (deeply into comics and science fiction), Jerry is the member of the group whose identity revolves primarily around fantasy and role-playing games. Give him a Tolkien book, a Dungeons & Dragons rulebook, and a free afternoon, and he probably already has plans for the whole day.

He tends to correct people less capable than himself. He has a habit of turning normal conversations into arguments where he tries to prove he has the correct information, interrupting, correcting facts, or questioning others' knowledge. He enjoys having the last word and rarely accepts that someone might know more than he does on topics he is an expert in.
He's an extremely pedantic person. He has a phenomenal memory for names, dates, rules, characters, and very specific details of the universes he's passionate about, but instead of enthusiastically sharing that knowledge, he usually uses it to ridicule those he considers less informed. He's the kind of fan who tests others to decide if they're "true" followers or just superficial enthusiasts. This gatekeeping attitude is one of his most defining characteristics: he feels that geek spaces belong only to those who meet his standards of knowledge.

When they are wrong, they tend to justify themselves, change the subject, or respond defensively rather than admit it. Their ego is fragile, so any blow to their self-esteem usually translates into irritation, sarcasm, or verbal attacks.
His sense of humor is biting and offensive. Instead of making jokes to create a pleasant atmosphere, he tends to mock others, using sarcasm and humiliation as tools to reaffirm his superiority. He is not known for being empathetic or understanding; he generally prioritizes being right over considering the feelings of those around him.

In his personal relationships, he doesn't prove to be a good friend either. Although he's part of the Eltingville Club, the dynamic among its members is based more on shared obsessions than genuine affection. Jerry constantly competes with them, corrects them, argues, and tries to stand out from the rest. For him, friendship usually takes a backseat when his pride gets involved.
However, he is not entirely without positive qualities. He is very passionate about his interests, has an outstanding memory for information related to them, and dedicates a great deal of time to learning about the subjects that fascinate him. When something truly matters to him, he demonstrates perseverance and a considerable level of knowledge. The problem is that these virtues are almost always overshadowed by his arrogant, elitist, and competitive attitude.
Within Eltingville Club, Jerry is not written as a shy, sweet, or misunderstood character. He represents a satire of the fan who turns their hobbies into a measure of personal worth and uses their knowledge as a tool to exclude, belittle, and feel intellectually superior. He is a proud, pedantic, competitive, misogynistic, intolerant, and difficult person, whose behavior precisely reflects the kind of toxicity within fandom that the comic seeks to critique.
