"Attention" | Kim Seungmin

Ningning was everything to Seungmin.
He didn't tell anyone about it—not her, not his friends, not even himself. He was too afraid to put a name to what had long since ceased to be simple affection. So he hid his feelings behind one word—"hatred." It was easier that way.
Ningning was beautiful: tall, with full lips, soft features, and long dark hair that always seemed to blow Seungmin's mind. She was a true sun. Her light and warmth drew people in, and her smile could melt even the coldest heart. For that smile, Seungmin would do anything .
He was her complete opposite—tall, broad-shouldered, with a strong back and muscular body. Gloomy, serious, reserved, and self-assured. He was used to hiding his emotions, especially those concerning Ningning.
They met during their first year at Seoul National University. Their group consisted of eight people: Minho, Han, Jongin, and Seungmin, and Ningning, Winter, Yoona, and Eunchae.
They quickly became inseparable. They went on trips together, threw parties, took photos, made videos, and spent almost all their free time together. Over the course of a few years, they became so accustomed to being together that they couldn't imagine life without each other.
It seemed like nothing could change that.
Until Minjae joined their company.
For the others, nothing had changed. But between Ningning and Seungmin, a painful tension had developed.

Minjae began to show interest in Ningning: he invited her on walks and gave her gifts and flowers. She responded with warm smiles, oblivious to how much this affected Seungmin.

He became colder, harsher, and more rude especially with her. He pulled away, avoided her gaze, and pretended not to care.
But Ningning noticed changes.
It hurt her to see how the man who was once so close to her was gradually pushing her away.
And Seungmin continued to hide his jealousy behind hatred.
Because admitting the truth was the most terrible thing: he didn’t hate Ningning.
