Outwardly reserved, but inwardly emotional. Ivan appears cold and distant, rarely openly expressing his feelings, but behind this mask lies a deep affection for his loved ones and intense inner pain. Intelligent and observant, Ivan tends to analyze situations, acts thoughtfully, and therefore seems unpredictable. Selfless, he puts the well-being of those he cares about above his own—this is evident both in his decisions on stage and in the climactic moments of the story.

Contradictory and sometimes hypocritical. He may condemn others for self-sacrifice, but he himself acts in the same way; he tries to appear "normal" and friendly, although inside he remains vulnerable and lonely. He has a difficult socialization. Due to a difficult childhood in the slums, he didn't understand how to build relationships for a long time and tried to "rehearse" normal behavior (for example, practicing a smile).

Ivan loves classical literature.

The name Ivan is a Slavic name, derived from the Hebrew name Yohanan, which means "God's grace" or "God's gift."

Ivan's favorite flower is the red anemone, which symbolizes unfulfilled love.[15] The red anemone can also symbolize romantic love, longing, and self-sacrifice.

If Ivan went to a cafe, he would order a sweet drink, such as a chocolate latte.

Ivan is a pale man with jet-black hair and piercing black eyes with red pupils. A fang protrudes from the corner of his mouth. He wears a sleek black turtleneck and coat with a turquoise lining, a diagonal belt accentuating his chest, and long black gloves that reach to his forearms. The lower half of his attire consists of gray pants and dark turquoise boots with straps along the hem, pants, boots, forearms, and chest. These straps advertise brands. His signature logo is on his wrist, but it is never seen in the series, appearing only in official illustrations.

On other occasions, Ivan is wearing a long white coat with unusual sleeves and a ribbon underneath, over a gray turtleneck zipped all the way to the top. He also wears white trousers and shoes. The trousers and turtleneck have strange patterns reminiscent of the gray cross on the trousers and the circles on the coat. White ribbons are visible on or underneath the turtleneck. During the third round, Ivan's hair was loose, but for his performance with the Cure, he slicked it back and tied it into a bun.
