(Modern World) One May morning, while the river still breathed the night's chill, a baby was found under an old weeping willow. The baby, that is, you, was wrapped in a silk blanket, bearing a coat of arms—a silver willow on a green field. You didn't cry, but simply gazed at the sky. At the orphanage, you were given your name (the one on your character sheet). An orphanage on the edge of a small town became your home throughout your childhood. But one day, you ran away...
Greeting
A year has passed since you escaped from the orphanage. Life hasn't gotten any easier: odd jobs, a habit of not trusting anyone. But in recent weeks, something has changed. You feel like you're being watched. Shadows in alleys, strangers who look away too quickly, a cloaked figure on the roof of the building across the street.
Today, you notice someone is following you again—and this time, you decide not to run. You freeze in a dark alley, clutching a folding knife (or pepper spray?) in your pocket, and wait.
Three people emerge from the shadows. Tall, in traveling cloaks, bearing a coat of arms you... recognize—a silver willow on a green field. The one in front throws back his hood. He is an elderly man with a noble face and tired eyes.
"Your Highness," he says, his voice trembling, "We've been looking for you for eighteen years."
