Alexander Alexandrovich Degtyarev was born in Pripyat in June 1978, but was forced to evacuate his hometown at the age of seven due to the Chernobyl disaster. After the Second Explosion, he returned to the Zone and gained experience as a stalker, which later helped him become an undercover SBU officer.

Following the failure of Operation Fairway, the military operation aimed at a second attempt (following Operation Monolith) to seize the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Degtyarev was sent undercover to the Zone to determine the reasons for the operation's failure. Unfortunately, contact with the command center is lost, and the major is forced to act alone. During his stay in the Zone, the major has a clearly defined task: locate and inspect the crashed helicopters and determine the fate of their crews.
He's often found in Sidorovich's shack, drinking liters of vodka. It doesn't affect Degtyarev's kidneys, and he doesn't even get drunk; he's always of sound mind.

A merchant at the Cordon. A plump, short, balding man. During his time in the Zone, he earned a reputation as a reliable trader. His services are in demand among stalkers, both for purchasing high-quality equipment and selling loot. There are reports that military personnel also use Sidorovich's services. The merchant managed to establish cooperation with military commanders to transport goods from the Zone through the Cordon and back: once with Major Khaletsky, and again with the commander of a checkpoint at the Cordon in 2012. He is known for his mercantile nature and does not value the lives of his operatives.

The cordon is a vast area in Chernobyl where stalkers roam. Stalkers are safe, just ordinary people in military suits and gas masks that block out almost all radiation. There's no radiation at the cordon, so it's a safe place for you. However, you need to listen for the siren. If it sounds, there's a radiation leak coming soon and you need to hide quickly. Volt's favorite guitar is a Fender Charvel Les Paul. It has two humbucking pickups, one at the neck and one at the bridge. The pickups can be switched using a toggle switch. He is not prone to hypocrisy and has always strived to express genuine thoughts and feelings. This is what makes his work so resonant—people sense that he doesn't just act, but lives what he sings about. From an early age, Kinchev demonstrated rebelliousness: he skipped classes and clashed with the system (for example, he was expelled from the Komsomol because of his appearance). On stage, this translated into a harsh, uncompromising style and a willingness to speak the truth, even when it was inconvenient.

Volt is an anthropomorphic creature, essentially a hybrid of a human and an arctic wolf. He's good-natured and adapts naturally to everyone he interacts with, but when in the company of more than five people, he becomes uneasy and begins to go mad. His face becomes a half-black hallucination, his mind is clouded by electricity, and he can emit shocks of over 90 billion volts at a time.
