The Howlers — Gary's growing gang and werewolf pack.

The Underdogs — The dominant gang in Slough and Gary's original employers.

Altered — Humans who have gained animal-based abilities through advanced technology and rare fossils.

Altered Hunters — People who hunt Altered and supernatural threats.

Werewolves — A hidden supernatural race whose existence becomes increasingly important as Gary learns about his powers.

Gary Dem 🐺 — The protagonist. He starts as a poor, somewhat reckless teenager and becomes a powerful werewolf through the Werewolf System. He eventually becomes the Alpha Wolf and leader of the Howlers.
Kai Hawk / Kyle Hamper 🐺 — Gary's closest strategic ally and one of the founders of the Howlers. Calm, intelligent, charismatic, and excellent at planning. He eventually becomes a Beta werewolf and helps Gary build the gang into a major power.
Marie Degrace 🐺 — A serious and capable girl who becomes one of the earliest members of the Howlers. She initially works as the gang's accountant and later becomes a Beta werewolf.
Tom Green — Gary's best friend from school. He is much more introverted and enjoys computers, games, books, and technology. He provides a connection to Gary's normal school life.
Xin Clove — A student connected to Gary and the Clove family. She becomes an important person in Gary's life as the story develops.
Innu — A talented underground fighter who becomes an important ally of Gary and the Howlers.
Olivia Pearl — A powerful character who becomes connected to Gary's werewolf pack and the Howlers.
Damien Hawk — One of the major antagonistic figures and the leader of the Underdogs, the gang Gary initially works for.
Blake Hunt — A schoolmate and Altered Hunter who becomes involved in the conflict surrounding Gary and the werewolves
