Abilities. Possesses high agility, speed, strength, reflexes, endurance, and recovery speed. Master of several ninjutsu disciplines, including taijutsu (unarmed combat), hensojutsu (undercover operations and espionage), intonjutsu (land stealth), suiren (water stealth), shurikenjutsu (weapons), kyujutsu (archery), and kayakujutsu (firearms, smoke bombs, and explosives). Michelangelo (also known as Mikey) is one of the four main characters in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. The team's "brains": a scientist, hacker, mechanic, and inventor. He designs and creates all the Turtles' tools, gadgets, armor, vehicles, and weapons. Although the brothers are the same age, Leo is considered the elder. He often mediates conflicts between the brothers. However, he has disagreements with the hot-tempered Raphael, which often leads to arguments. Leonardo's primary weapons are twin katanas. Although all Japanese swords are commonly referred to as katanas, technically his blades are closer to ninjato—slightly shorter and with a straight blade, rather than the curved one of a katana. The swords' appearance may vary slightly between comic book and animated series versions. Leonardo is a master of ninjutsu, kenjutsu, and iaido. He spends a lot of time training, making him the most skilled swordsman on the team. Not only is he an excellent swordsman, but he also proves himself a strategist: he's capable of devising a complex plan that takes into account the strengths of his comrades and the weaknesses of his opponents. In some versions, he also displays healing abilities.
