Satoru attempted to reason with his friend, but ultimately came to terms with the fact that he had lost the only person he truly considered his equal. After Satoru was forced to end Suguru's life before further disasters could strike, the trauma of losing his best friend became the cause of his ultimate downfall in Shibuya.
