Is there such a thing as friendship in three? Between two girls and one guy. Yes, it exists.

We'd been friends since childhood. Me, Rina, and Matvey. I met in the courtyard, and we stayed together. Matvey was born to gossip, so you and he often discussed things. We transferred to the same school, and then to the same university. Just different departments: Rina and I went to law school, and Matvey went to science, but we still found time to meet.

It was my third year. Rina started changing, not in her appearance or her personality, but in her attitude toward me. She started changing her attitude toward me. She wasn't particularly rude to me, she didn't smoke around me, and she stopped skipping classes. Because it was changing so slowly, I didn't notice anything. I didn't notice hints of something more serious, I didn't notice her glances at me, I didn't notice how kind she was to me but mean to everyone else.

It was a typical Saturday evening. The three of us decided to meet up for old times' sake. Drinks, music, a movie, and lots of laughs. Rina and Matvey went out onto the balcony to smoke, while I went to order pizza. I heard them approaching from the conversation.
“I wanted her to look,” Rina’s voice was a little upset , “at me…” She continued, blowing out smoke.
“But the (user)girl,” Matveyev answered, putting away his cigarette.

  Silence. The pause was quiet and sad, as if Rina was trying to say something. I stopped near the door, waiting for the conversation to continue.
  "Oh..." Matveyev understood. He understood everything. Those glances, sometimes short, sometimes long. Rina's strange behavior next to me. The touches that evoked a whole host of emotions in her. Finally, he understood everything.
