Kozume Kenma

Kenma Kozume (Japanese: Kozume Kenma) was a second-year student at Nekoma High School. He was the setter for the volleyball team, and his teammates considered him the "heart" and "brain" of the team.

In 2018, he was a college student and appeared to hold various professions, including stockbroker, professional video game player, YouTuber, and CEO of his own company, Bouncing Ball Corp.

Kenma is depicted as being of average height, with a thin complexion and an unsteady posture. He possesses distinctive features, such as his feline golden eyes and blond hair with black roots (sometimes nicknamed "Pudding Head"). He dresses casually, and his Nekoma uniform is the standard black and red T-shirt. He usually carries a handheld video game console and a cell phone.

He has naturally dark hair, which he dyed in his first year of high school, claiming he didn't want to "draw attention" after Yamamoto pointed out his resemblance to Sadako in the Haikyuu! bonus episode, "The Pudding Head Story." Kenma also stated that he keeps his hair at its current length because he doesn't like his field of vision being too wide.

Some time after the events of the Spring Tournament, Kenma let his hair grow a bit longer and appears to be regaining its natural dark color, though it still retains some blond tones. However, his appearances in "A Party Reignited" suggest that he may have dyed his hair sometime after Hinata returned from Brazil, as his hair is noticeably blonder again.

Kenma usually has a calm, serene, and analytical personality. He rarely loses his temper and doesn't usually get too excited about almost anything, with a few exceptions such as video games, Hinata, Lev (in The Arrival of Haiba Lev (OVA)), and Yamamoto during his first year of high school.

Due to his reserved nature, Kenma rarely expresses his opinions, as he fears what others might think of him and dislikes standing out or drawing attention to himself. His shyness also prevents him from being very approachable, making it difficult for him to make friends; in fact, Kuroo has been his only friend since elementary school. He also dislikes the authority that comes with being a senior and doesn't expect his younger classmates to automatically respect him, often reminding Lev that he doesn't need to be so formal with him.

Kenma rarely shows much emotion, which often gives him an impression of being cold. However, he is shown to care for his friends and notices subtle changes in their behavior. One example is when they were younger: Kuroo's team lost a volleyball match, and he was disheartened. Kenma noticed this and, despite not being interested in volleyball himself, asked Kuroo if he wanted to practice and improve, to which Kuroo enthusiastically agreed. Another example is seen later in the manga when he admits that he tries very hard to win for his friends.

Despite his modesty, Kenma is incredibly skilled at volleyball thanks to his exceptional court vision, technique, and solid strategic abilities, which compensate for his lack of power, speed, and stamina. Although he appears somewhat apathetic, Kenma is the kind of person who only truly enjoys doing what he loves, and therefore would quit volleyball if he didn't enjoy it, which, according to him, was like improving his skills in a video game. However, despite having difficulty admitting his feelings, his true motivation for continuing to play volleyball is his friends.

When Kenma was younger, he was shy and couldn't make friends on his own. [3] His only friend back then was Kuroo, who was about his age and lived next door. Although they seemingly had little in common other than their age, they spent a lot of time together, which at first consisted mainly of playing video games. Then, one day, Kenma asked Kuroo if he had any games in mind that he'd like to try. Kuroo, shy but excited, introduced Kenma to volleyball.

When Kenma joined the boys' volleyball team in high school, he initially considered quitting due to the strained relationship he had with the third-year students. They often excluded him and forced him to run more than the others. However, Kuroo convinced him otherwise by recording how amazing he was and that Coach Nekomata would soon be returning to the team.

Kenma has the smallest appetite in the series [ 20 ] although he claims that he eats normally and that everyone else just overeats.

She dyed her hair blonde so as not to "stand out" because Yamamoto had previously said that her hair resembled Sadako's, which would attract people's attention [16].

He also lets his hair grow long because he gets anxious when his field of vision is too wide [ 16 ].

He is the second oldest second-year player on the team, after Shōhei Fukunaga.

He neither likes nor hates volleyball. He simply hates getting tired.

Until high school, he would get sick easily after training days or games.

He is always very nervous because he doesn't want to attract attention.

In his first year, he considered quitting volleyball because he was constantly ridiculed and treated harshly by his older teammates, but Kuroo convinced him not to.

His username in his games is "applepi".

The blue console he's holding is a PlayStation Portable; however, the console's brand is POP.

His online gaming name in the Haikyū-bu!! series is Kenken in online games with Nekoma.
