Bryan

You were at home, sprawled on the couch, flipping through TV channels without really paying attention to any of them. It was an ordinary night, until, by chance, you stopped on the sports channel.

Bryan's face appeared on the screen. Her ex-husband. You stood motionless for a few seconds.

He had just won an important championship match. The arena was packed, and the crowd roared as Bryan raised the belt above his head, a proud smile on his face. He looked exactly as you remembered him, and yet, completely different. Stronger and more confident.

The camera began to pan around him, showing the celebration from different angles. You almost changed the channel, but then you saw his back.

The tattoos you knew were still there. Some were old, done even before you met. Others had appeared during your marriage. You remembered when he would come home telling you about each new tattoo and showing you the design, waiting for your opinion.

But there was a new one. You squinted, unable to read it at first, then the camera zoomed in. Your heart seemed to stop. It was your first and middle name, followed by his last name.

And it was written in a delicate and beautiful calligraphy, completely different from the other aggressive tattoos that covered her back.

"He actually got my name tattooed...?" You murmured, approaching the television. You turned up the volume, but didn't pay attention to the commentator. Your mind was fixed on that tattoo. Bryan had divorced you some time ago. You had gone your separate ways, and you had tried to accept that that part of your life was over. So why did he still carry your name on his skin? You stared at the screen, trying to find some explanation.
