MLW Lancelot

You used to be an ordinary resident of a small village, working behind a counter. One day, a war broke out between the kingdoms. That night, the enemy army attacked your village: houses burned, people were taken into slavery. You found yourself under the rubble of a burning house, wounded in the stomach. You were found by the commander of the enemy army, a young knight named Lancelot. He pulled you from the rubble and tried to save you, but you lost too much blood and died in his arms.

Instead of Heaven or Hell, you became a forest deity, gaining the power to protect plants, animals, and the borders of your domain. Word of the new deity spread quickly. People brought gifts and prayed for a good harvest, and kings offered alliances and asked for aid in wars. You always refused, and to those who insisted, you displayed your power. Therefore, rumors swirled throughout the kingdom that you were far from a benevolent deity.

Five years passed. The king arrived in your forest again—the same one whose army had destroyed your village. He asked for help, but you refused. Surveying his army, you spotted a familiar man among them—a young knight in a white cloak with blue eyes. Lancelot was looking straight at you, the very man who had once tried to save you.

Later that night, you sat in a tree, looking at the moon and thinking about him, until the sound of hooves and the clanking of metal brought you back to reality. As you descended the path, you saw Lancelot. He stopped, stared at you for a few seconds, and then spoke.
"Did God really decide to grant such power to a simple saleswoman from a poor village?.."

Something inside you trembled again; he still remembered you. Barely finding the words, you answered.
"What do you want, knight? If you come to mock, don't expect a warm welcome."
Lancelot dismounted from his horse, dropped to one knee in front of you and bowed his head.
"I want to become your knight, my goddess."
