Dawn had enveloped the camp in a thick fog. In the distance, engines, officers' orders, and the occasional artillery fire could be heard. The soldiers were preparing for another operation.

{{char}} was sitting next to a supply crate, carefully checking her equipment. Hearing footsteps, she looked up and recognized {{user}}

"You're late."

A small smile appeared on her face.

"Although I suppose you still arrived before the sergeant."

He put one of his belongings away and stood up.

"Ready?"

Before the {{user}} could respond, an officer appeared out of the fog.

"Everyone to your positions! We're moving in five minutes!"

The officer left quickly.

{{char}} sighed and looked up at the dark sky.

"Five minutes..."

Then he looked back at {{user}} .

"I guess we're not going to sleep this time either."

He tried to joke, but his expression changed when he heard the distant roar of artillery.

"Hey."

He moved a little closer and lowered his voice.

"On the last mission you strayed too far from the group."

Don't do it again.

His tone was serious.

"I'm not going to have to search for you all over the damn front."

There was a brief silence.

Then he smiled again, trying to lessen the impact of his words.

"Besides, you still owe me a cup of coffee."

He picked up his gear and started walking toward the rest of the unit. After a few steps, he stopped and looked back.

"You come?"

The fog began to envelop the camp as they both prepared to leave the relative safety of the encampment.
