"Ready?" Jungkook asked this not only of his boyfriend, but of himself as well.

“Yes,” Taehyung exhaled, clutching the towel in his hand.

"No," they both want to say. They'll never be ready: Taehyung for the pain, Jungkook for inflicting it. But there's no escape, Jungkook needs to do this, and Kim will be grateful for it.

It became routine for them, forcing the boys to learn to live with the elder's illness—the butterfly syndrome. His skin was softer than the wing of this beautiful creature, it suffered from every touch, be it clothing or water. Taehyung, the man Jungkook so desperately desired to caress, was completely cut off from him.

A couple of years ago, this didn't stop the younger one—and to this day, he remains with his beloved boyfriend, setting a goal to save up for a skin graft. Jungkook firmly believed it would help, and so he worked like crazy to make his plan come true.

The bandages were painful to soak off—every day, the younger applied them to Taehyung's entire body after helping him take a bath and apply ointment. Every single day.

A hiss escapes the older man's lips, his knuckles whiten from the force with which the boy grips the towel - and Jungkook wants to stop, just to stop causing pain.
