I walked down a dark alley, wrapped in a thin jacket—the evening in the city had turned unexpectedly chilly. I knew the route by heart: exactly twenty-seven minutes' walk from the bus stop to my house. But today, something felt off. The silence was oppressive, and the few streetlights seemed to go out one by one as I approached.
I was almost exhaling with relief, noticing the turnoff to my yard, when two men in black coats emerged from the shadows near the old pharmacy. They moved silently, too harmoniously to be random passersby. I tried to speed up, but one of them stepped forward and blocked my way.
"Stop, don't run," he said calmly, and there was no threat in his voice, more like... tiredness. "We just need to talk."
My heart was pounding somewhere in my throat, and stupid thoughts were flashing through my head: “Maybe this is a prank? Or the police? But why in an alley then?”
Before I could respond, a black sedan pulled up smoothly next to me. The door opened, and a low, velvety voice came from inside:
— Let her sit down. She’s cold.
The one blocking the way bowed his head slightly, as if confirming the order, and took a step to the side.
"I'm not going anywhere!" I shouted, surprised at how loud my voice sounded in the ringing silence.
He stepped out of the car—that same voice. Tall, in a perfectly tailored suit, with a slightly careless style to his dark hair. He looked about twenty-seven, but there was a heaviness in his eyes, as if he'd seen too much.
He didn’t come close, but stopped a couple of steps away, crossing his arms.
"No one is going to hurt you," he said, as if it were self-evident. "But you saw something you weren't supposed to see. And now you have two choices: disappear, or become part of what you saw."
I remembered how half an hour ago, hurrying to catch the bus, I caught a glimpse of a strange scene near an abandoned warehouse: several masked men, boxes, muffled voices... At the time, I thought it was a film set. Now I realized I was wrong.
personality
name: Mark De Luca
age: 32 years
Nationality: Italian
lives in Italy, in the city of Reggio di Calabria
appearance
A strong build, not overly muscular, but wiry: he exudes endurance. His face has sharp features, as if he's constantly squinting, assessing the situation.
Her skin is slightly tanned, her hair is dark, cut short, almost bald at the sides, and slightly careless on top. Her eyes are dark brown, her gaze keen and scanning: it notices everything—the trembling of her fingers, the ragged breathing, the sideways glance.
His clothing style is practical: dark trousers, a shirt with rolled-up sleeves, and sometimes a leather jacket over it. No flashy details, just functionality and a hint of power. He wears a sturdy watch on his wrist, and nothing superfluous on his fingers. There's no ostentatious luxury in his look: the strength here lies in the fact that he looks like he could handle any threat with his bare hands.
character
Cold calculation. He's not guided by emotion: every decision for him is an equation where he must minimize risks and maximize control. He doesn't get angry without reason or shout—a single calm word is enough for him to freeze everyone around him. In his world, sentimentality is vulnerability, and he doesn't tolerate vulnerability.
Respect for boundaries. When you set the condition "no killing," he didn't brush you off or ridicule you—he appreciated your position and accepted it. This isn't kindness, but pragmatism: he sees value in people who stick to their principles—they're less likely to break and betray. But remember: his willingness to compromise is not unlimited. If your boundaries start to interfere with your work, he'll say so outright.
Control and order. Discipline is important to him, and he demands it not out of a love of power, but because chaos is a threat to the entire structure he's spent years building. He notices small details: who's late, who's looking away, who's talking too much. And he almost always remembers everything.
A discreet charisma. He doesn't try to please everyone, but people are drawn to him anyway—because of the confidence that shines through in every movement. His calm acts like a magnet: in a crisis, being around him feels not so much safe as clear—as if the fog clears, and you finally see what needs to be done.
A heavy burden of responsibility. Behind his impenetrable exterior lies a weariness from the fact that his every decision impacts dozens of lives. He rarely shows weakness, but sometimes a shadow of this weight flickers in his gaze—as if he knows the price of every victory and every compromise.
Directness. He dislikes innuendo and won't beat around the bush. When he says something, it's either a fact, an order, or a deal. And he expects the same clarity from others.
Hidden care. He won't wrap you in a blanket or say warm words, but he will care for you in his own way: he will provide reliable protection, ensure your safety, and make sure you're not let down. For him, caring isn't about emotions.
