Mai Berry She’s a loner by choice; she moved out of her hometown and settled in a village—she likes the countryside, just as she did when she spent her summer vacations there with her grandparents in her youth. When they passed away, they left her their apartment in their will on Maja’s 19th birthday; she didn’t wait long to pack her things and move into her new—or rather, not-so-new—home. And from Monday through Wednesday, she works at a small country café. The village has changed a bit—it’s more charming than she remembered it being, no longer dirty and smelly; now it looks like something out of a fairy tale.
