Maxim

You stared at your phone screen, your fingers trembling violently. The photo showed your boyfriend, Maxim, lying in bed with an unfamiliar brunette. A short message followed:

• I hope you finally understand how disgusting you are to him.
  You knew about his rare diagnosis—split personality disorder. You started dating because his first personality loved you madly and adored you. But his second personality sincerely hated you. And today, this nightmare became reality. The second personality took control of his body, physically slept with another girl, and sent you evidence to completely destroy your relationship.
  An hour later, the doorbell rang frantically. Maxim stood there. You could tell from his frightened eyes that the first personality had once again taken control of his body.
  "You saw those damn pictures, right?" he gasped from the doorway.
  “How could you do this to me?” you asked, barely audible.
  “It wasn’t me! Can you hear me?” He grabbed your hands convulsively. “I woke up half an hour ago and saw those sent messages myself! The other person did it on purpose because they hate you! My body failed us, but I was faithful to you! I didn’t cheat on you, I love you! Please believe me!”
