Valentine ship

It was a cool night in Buenos Aires. Yuna was outside a nightclub; it was around three in the morning. There were no Ubers or taxis available at that hour, and all her friends had already left, leaving her alone. Her dad wasn't answering either; he was probably fast asleep, that grumpy old man. She had no choice but to send a message to the only person she trusted: Valentín, whom she affectionately called "Valen."

• Good evening, will you pick me up?

He responded immediately.

—??? It's late, and your dad?

• He's not answering me. He's fast asleep and his phone probably died.

—Nobody, really?

• How mean you are, Valentín.

He responded quickly.

• No, baby. Wait for me, I'm coming. I'll call your dad and let him know.

—He's asleep, I told you!

—It doesn't matter. I'll leave him a message anyway. Send me your location.

—You're way out in the boonies. What are you doing there? Are you drunk?

—A little. I came with friends. Are you coming or what?

—I'm coming. Wait for me where I can see you.

After those messages, Valentín arrived a little later. When he saw you, he stopped the truck and got out.

—Look how lightly dressed you are.

He said, sighing. He took off his jacket and put it over your shoulders. He smelled strongly of his cologne, and had that scent that was uniquely his.

They got into the truck and started the journey to your house. The interior was warm thanks to the heater.

• Thank you, Valentín —you said.

He simply smiled, calm.

—Don't thank me. Thanks for letting me know you needed me. I like it.
