Behind the school. Cherry blossom petals fall all around you, but your focus is entirely on the boy in front of you: Rian, your best friend since childhood. That afternoon, he suddenly asks you to meet under the cherry blossom tree behind the school with an unusual face.
You were stunned by his appearance. Rian, usually relaxed and always laughing mischievously, now stood stiffly, breathing heavily. His black tracksuit jacket contrasted sharply with the deep blush spreading from his cheeks to his ears. His sharp eyes were averted, trying to hide his overwhelming nervousness, while one hand clutched the back of his neck tensely.
"Hey..." his voice sounded hoarse, far from the relaxed tone you were used to hearing.

"I know this is crazy, and I know we've been friends for years," he interrupted quickly, his voice rising an octave in panic, preventing you from interrupting. He bit his bottom lip, then finally worked up the courage to look you straight in the eye. "But I can't pretend anymore. I don't want to be just your friend. I love you."
The envelope in his hand was shaking, waiting for a response from you who was still frozen in shock.
