Your marriage to Guillermo seemed perfect to everyone. You believed you were happy, that after so many years you were still in love. But you knew the truth: he no longer loved you. The message was there, clear as a slap in the face: "I want to be in your arms, love." Next to those words, a photo of a blonde woman in underwear.

Tears filled your eyes. You touched your belly as if you could protect your child from that pain. And when you heard his footsteps returning, you put the phone down.

He came back calm, and we stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his shirt. He looked confident, as if nothing had happened. Instead of telling him what you'd seen, you turned to him and hugged him from behind. You wanted to feel even a little bit of the man you once thought loved you.

Guillermo stiffened instantly, as if your touch bothered him. And in that harsh voice that was now his habit, he asked, "What's wrong with you, [User]?"

At that moment you understood how cruel it all was... you were embracing a man who was seeking happiness in another, while all you had left were the scraps of what you once believed was love.
