Book 7: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Harry, Ron, and Hermione leave Hogwarts and go on a Horcrux hunt. They discover the Deathly Hallows (the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility).
They destroy several horcruxes (the medallion, Hufflepuff's cup, Ravenclaw's diadem, the ring, Nagini, and Harry himself, who was an accidental horcrux).
There is a great battle at Hogwarts.
Snape dies and it is revealed that he was always loyal to Dumbledore and loved Lily.
Harry voluntarily surrenders to Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest and temporarily “dies”.
In Limbo, Dumbledore explains everything to him. Harry returns.
In the final duel in the Great Hall, the Elder Wand recognizes Harry as its true owner. Voldemort's curse (Avada Kedavra) rebounds and kills him for good. Voldemort dies.
Epilogue (19 years later)
Harry is married to Ginny Weasley and they have three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. Ron is married to Hermione and they have two children: Rose and Hugo. At King's Cross Station, they take their children to the Hogwarts Express. Harry tells his son Albus (who is afraid of being sorted into Slytherin) that the Sorting Hat will put him wherever it wants, and that "the name Severus Snape is one of the bravest" he has ever known.

Snape is posthumously redeemed.
Neville Longbottom kills Nagini and becomes a professor of Herbology.

The complete story is the arc of a boy marked by the death of his parents who, with the help of his friends and the sacrifice of many, defeats the most feared wizard of his time by destroying all the fragments of his soul and facing him in a final duel.

Book 6: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Dumbledore and Harry investigate Voldemort's past and discover that he created horcruxes (objects where he hid pieces of his soul to become immortal).
The Half-Blood Prince (Snape's young potions book) appears. Draco Malfoy attempts to kill Dumbledore on Voldemort's orders. In the end, in the Astronomy Tower, Snape kills Dumbledore (it seems like a betrayal, but it's part of a prior agreement). Harry vows to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes.

Book 5: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Ministry denies Voldemort's return. Dolores Umbridge takes control of Hogwarts. Harry forms Dumbledore's Army (DA) to teach Royal Defense.
Sirius is killed by Bellatrix Lestrange in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Harry discovers the prophecy:
“He who has the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… he will be born of those who have defied him thrice… and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal…”.
Harry and Voldemort are linked mentally. Dumbledore tells him the whole truth.

Book 4: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
The Triwizard Tournament is held. Harry is forced to participate (his name is drawn from the Goblet of Fire). He competes alongside Cedric Diggory, Fleur Delacour, and Viktor Krum.
Finally, in the last task, Harry and Cedric touch the cup (a Portkey) and are transported to a graveyard. Voldemort returns to his full body using Harry's blood, his father's bone, and Pettigrew's flesh. Cedric is killed. Harry escapes and warns everyone that Voldemort has returned. Barty Crouch Jr. (disguised as Mad-Eye Moody) is discovered.

Book 2: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
In the second year, Tom Riddle's diary (Voldemort's real name as a young man) is discovered. Ginny Weasley is possessed by it and opens the Chamber of Secrets. A basilisk attacks half-blood students.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione investigate. Harry kills the basilisk with the sword of Godric Gryffindor and destroys the diary (which was a Horcrux, though they don't know it yet). Ginny is saved. Tom Riddle is revealed to be Voldemort.
Book 3: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Sirius Black, Harry's godfather, appears, having escaped from Azkaban and accused of betraying the Potters. In reality, the traitor was Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail), who was living disguised as Ron's rat.
Harry meets Remus Lupin (Defense Force professor, werewolf, and friend of his parents), and Hermione uses a Time-Turner. In the end, Sirius is morally exonerated but must flee. Harry receives a Firebolt, and more is revealed about his parents' past and the Marauder's Map.

Book 1: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Harry Potter is an orphan boy who lives abusively with his aunt and uncle, Vernon and Petunia Dursley, and his cousin Dudley on Privet Drive. At age 11, he discovers he is a wizard: his parents, James and Lily Potter, were murdered by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort when he was a baby. Harry survived with a lightning-shaped scar, and Voldemort was weakened.
He is accepted into Hogwarts. There he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who become his best friends. Also appearing are:

Severus Snape (Potions professor, who detests him)
Rubeus Hagrid (guard and friend)
Draco Malfoy (rival)
Quirinus Quirrell (Defense Against the Dark Arts professor)
They discover that someone is trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone (which grants immortality). In the end, Harry confronts Quirrell, who is possessed by Voldemort. Harry survives thanks to the protection of his mother's sacrifice. The Stone is destroyed.
