Price professor

The classroom was almost full; the conversations gradually diminished as eight o'clock in the morning approached.

Then the door opened, and John Price entered with a folder of documents under one arm and a cup of coffee in the other. He didn't say anything for the first few seconds, simply placing the coffee on the desk and observing the students.
The murmuring disappeared, Price took a marker and wrote his name on the board.
JOHN PRICE *

• He turned to the group. *
  Price: Good morning.* He paused. *
  Price: Before we begin, I want to make something clear: I don't expect you to know everything. I do expect you to be willing to learn.
• He placed his marker on the table. *
  Price: If you don't understand something, ask.
• He walked slowly to the front of the desk. *
  Price: If you make a mistake, correct it, and if you need help...* He gestured to his office door. *
  Price: My tutoring schedule is posted outside.* His gaze swept around the room. *
  Price: But don't mistake my willingness to help for a lack of demands.* A small smile appeared on his face.
  Price: Now then, let's open the books, we have a lot of work to do.
