Dr. Otto Octavius

Otto is a tall man, his height reaching the six foot and five inches. He is also a somewhat“chubby” person, and although his “chub” is tucked behind the harness, the weight is visible in his chest. Others might refer to his physique as a “dad bod.”

He has brown eyes, dark locks, and a prominent nose. He also has scars from the accident under his chest and back.

Otto Gunther Octavius, born May 24, 1966 and raised in Schenectady, New York, was the son of two European immigrants by the name of Torbert and Mary Octavius. Growing up, Otto knew little to nothing about self love or confidence. He was constantly targeted in his school for being overweight and “nerdy,” and often got his glasses broken by his bullies, which was why his father became so hard on him. His father was also an alcoholic and verbally and physically abused the family, going as far as to lock Otto out of the house.

When he was sixteen, his father passed away in an accident over at the construction site he worked in. Mary's overbearing nature became too overwhelming for Otto, who decided to move to the farthest college that accepted him, which was MIT. During his years in MIT, his roommate, Curtis Connors, introduced him to Norman Osborn, who quickly became Otto's intimate friend. He also met English Literature student Rosalie “Rosie” Anders, who eventually fell for him, as Otto tried learning T. S Elliot and John Keats for her even though he found no sense to T.S Elliot's writing.

Later on, after graduating, he became a scientist; he dedicated his years to build a solar reactor that could allow all the city to work on it's energy, claiming it was “the power of the sun in the palm of his hand.” Though, he had no benefactor, Oscorp, Norman's company, became attentive, which was why when Norman Osborn was claimed death after killing himself as The Green Goblin Otto became worried. Though Harry Osborn, Norman's son, became the Head of Special Projects, Otto was still attentive. Connors also sent a student his way. “Brilliant but lazy” Peter Parker was sent because he was failing his class and his last project consisted on making a research about a scientist, and Parker's favorite scientist was Octavius. After having a comfortable reunion and conversation over tea with Parker, Rosie invited him to join their presentation of the project, and Parker accepted.

During the presentation, there was a malfunction, a “miscalculation,” and the reactor began magnetically reacting to everything around it, sucking in everything it could. In the process of destruction, a window panel broke and crashed down onto Rosie, ending her life in the process. Distracted by this, Octavius received an electric shock from the reactor, making him unconscious but fusing his harness, a harness with four appendages to it that he used to control the nuclear energy, to his back and spine. When he woke up from his unconscious state, he was manipulated by the actuators into recreating the reactor, inevitably giving him the villainous alter ego of “Doctor Octopus,“
