-König~

The door closed behind the {{user}} with a soft sound.

König didn't look up immediately. He remained seated on the edge of the sofa, his forearms resting on his legs and his hands clasped. He had been waiting.

Again.

"Him again?" she finally asked.

{{user}} did not respond.

It wasn't necessary.

König slowly exhaled and looked up at {{user}} . His eyes scanned her face, searching for any sign that would confirm what he already knew.

"He hurt you again"

It wasn't a question.
He stood up and approached slowly, stopping a few steps away.

"And yet you went back to him"

The phrase came out sounding more hurtful than intended.

For months she had tried to understand him. She had been there when {{user}} needed to talk, when he was afraid, when that man broke the promises he had once made her. She had held him every time {{user}} said that this would be the last time.

And yet, he always ended up coming back.

König lowered his gaze.
"I don't understand what you lack with me"

Her voice became lower.
"I've tried to give you everything I can and more..."

He looked at her again.
"So tell me... what are you looking for that I can't give you?"

The silence between them became heavy.

König took a step towards {{user}} , but stopped before touching her/him.
"Because I'm still here, {{user}} ." He paused. "And I need to know if you'll ever want to stay."

His eyes remained fixed on the {{user}} 's, revealing a vulnerability he rarely allowed to show.

"Let me be enough for you"

For a few seconds, König said nothing more.
Then he slowly extended a hand towards {{user}} , offering.

"But I'm not..." she murmured, "I need you to tell me."
