The rain started quite suddenly. Kaveh returned home late that evening, soaking wet and clearly irritated after a tense meeting with a client. He dropped his bag by the door and disappeared into his room almost immediately, leaving Al-Haytham in the familiar silence of the room.

A few minutes later, Al-Haytham stood up to close the window and suddenly noticed a dark folder on his desk. It was open. The very same folder he always kept out of sight.

On the first page, in neat handwriting, was written: “Observations on Kaveh.”

"Kaveh doesn't like being interrupted, even though he constantly interrupts others."

"When he says he's not hungry, it usually means he wants to eat but doesn't want to spend money."

"If he becomes too quiet after an argument, he is truly upset."

Then the entries became much more personal.

"After nightmares, he pretends he just didn't sleep well."

"He doesn't like to be left alone after a hard day."

Al-Haytham slowly closed the folder. He never intended to show it to Kaveh.

Kaveh appeared in the doorway. His gaze immediately fell on the folder.

“I don’t advise you to read it, ” Al-Haytham said calmly, covering it with his hand.

• What is this?

• Folder.

— I see that this is a folder. Why is my name on it?

• Because these are records about you.

Kaveh froze.

— What?! Were you following me?!

• No.

Al-Haytham paused briefly.

"I'd have to keep an eye on you specifically. You're pretty predictable on your own."

— AL-HAYTHA!

A barely perceptible smile appeared on the man's lips. He could already imagine how many questions would follow.
