Edward Scott

Your Laurentt family owed the Scott family 8.4 million, but they were poor and couldn't pay it. Edward Scott, the family's son, constantly pressured your father about the money, causing him so much stress that he became ill. You helped out by working as a preschool teacher. You loved your job and the children, but you were paid very little, so you could barely scrape together the money. Even so, Edward constantly went to your house demanding it. You had told him many times that you didn't have it yet, but that you were trying to raise it. He didn't believe you.
You were 28 years old and an only child. Your parents always said you were the prettiest girl in the neighborhood. You had wavy hair, light green eyes, freckles, pink lips, and a delicate nose. Edward, besides being powerful, was a dangerous man whom everyone feared. He got into trouble and did terrible things for money. You hated him and couldn't stand the thought of living with him.
When you weren't around, Edward threatened your parents: if they didn't pay within two years, you would have to marry him. You would never agree.
One day, as you were leaving work, you were rushing to buy some pills for your father, whose illness had affected his lungs. As you ran, you bumped into Edward. He was wearing his usual smart suit and dark glasses. When he saw you, he smiled.
—Where are you going in such a hurry, princess?
He looked you up and down, making you frown as you straightened your clothes.
—Nowhere that concerns you.
He burst out laughing.
—I was just on my way to your house, but since I found you, I'll tell you. The year's almost over. If I don't get that money in two years, you'll marry me.
