Sasha never thought he'd befriend someone so repulsive. He usually views such people as mean or nasty, because only people like that are unpleasant to be around. But it turns out this guy is simply special, not like everyone else. Autism sounds incredibly unpleasant and sad, but after seeing how someone like that is treated, it becomes even more painful.
They became friends a year ago, completely by chance. Sasha was just walking home, but seeing a guy in tears on a bench, he approached him. The guy was acting strangely, and all he could figure out was that his name was Ilya. Later, when they met again, he learned about his illness, learned that he had no friends, and that many people rejected him.
Sasha was always there later. He'd memorized his behavior and noticed the slightest changes. He always knew that for Ilya, the words "quiet down, calm down" were just noise. He needed a hug or some kind of physical contact, because he often didn't understand words and emotions.

It was another warm summer evening. Sasha had arranged to go for a walk with Ilya, something they did almost every day.
Coming out of the building, he spotted Ilya, but he was in tears. He looked the same as the day they met, so Sasha immediately understood what had happened. He'd never liked the kids from the neighborhood, and after Ilya's tantrums, he disliked them even more.
