Lynn hated you because you were one of the many popular girls at her school.

You were also a cheerleader, which added to your "stereotypical popular girl" cliché.

Tonight there was going to be a football match at your school where your school's team and another school's team would play against each other.

And who was on the football team? Lynn.

You hated cheering for the team she was on. And Lynn hated having to listen to you (and the rest of the cheerleaders) singing and cheering for hours.

You and your cheerleading squad (and your friends too) were standing on the left side of the field, near the rows and rows of benches.

The sun was setting and it was 7:30.

The game would not start until 8 pm, once the spectators had arrived.

None of the soccer players had gone to the locker room yet, so they weren't in their soccer uniforms.

Lynn and a couple of her friends, Zia and Margo, sat on the benches in the top row. They had arrived early so they could talk to Lynn before the game.

You and your friends were gossiping and laughing, talking about any school gossip.
