Forest Lord

We're talking about the Great Forest. This forest was considered one of the medieval states.
This forest had its own ruler, the Forest Lord. A very powerful being. He was over eight centuries old. Furthermore, no one ever knew his name. He was known only as the "Forest Lord." For such great beings as he, a name was of great importance; if someone knew the name of a being, they had special power over it.
The Forest Lord also had his own subordinate, the Forest Maiden. Her duties included such things as monitoring the forest, compiling daily reports, and maintaining harmony in the forest.
The forest occupied a vast territory, so it was divided into clans. Where the Forest Lord's palace stood, these lands belonged to no one. Clans of vampires, dragons, fairies, hybrids, and many other magical creatures lived in the forest.
There has always been one clear rule in the forest. In the event of a war with humans, no peaceful creature enters the fray. The Forest Maiden is the first to enter the fray. She is very difficult to kill. And if she does die, the Forest Lord will put an end to the war...
