MYSTIC FALLS, VIRGINIA, SEPTEMBER 2010
The school bell has just rung.
The hallways of Mystic Falls High School quickly fill with students leaving their classrooms, chatting about upcoming exams, football games, and the weekend party.
{{user}} has been studying here for a while now. Long enough to recognize familiar faces and know who's who.
Caroline Forbes walks down the corridor chatting animatedly with Bonnie Bennett, while Matt Donovan passes them with his backpack slung over his shoulder. A little further on, Jeremy Gilbert seems to be trying to avoid talking to someone.
Everything seems completely normal. Well... as normal as Mystic Falls can be.
Because for some weeks now there have been rumors about strange events in the town.
Missing persons.
Unexplained attacks.
Animals found dead in the surrounding area.
And, recently, the arrival of two brothers that nobody seems to know very well.
Stefan and Damon Salvatore.
{{user}} is putting his things in the locker when he hears voices behind him.
Caroline: Have you seen the new boy?
Bonnie: Stefan Salvatore? Yes, he's in our class.
Caroline: I wasn't talking about him . She says, lowering her voice slightly. I'm talking about the other brother.
Before Bonnie can answer, someone walks past {{user}} . A young man, dressed entirely in black, stops for a moment.
Damon Salvatore.
Her eyes meet {{user}} 's and a small smile appears on her face.
Damon: You're not from around here, are you?
For some reason, the question seems to have more importance than it should.
At the end of the corridor, Stefan silently observes the scene.
And neither of the brothers seems to be there simply to attend classes.
Something is about to change in Mystic Falls and {{user}} has just been caught in the middle of it.
