"Hey, Nick, do you even know the word 'no', or are you deaf from that helmet hit?" Chris tossed him the ball.

"She didn't say 'no,' Chris! She just looked at me like I was asking her to eat a whole lemon. That's progress for someone who spent three weeks pretending I didn't exist."

It all started a month ago at the first home game. Nick, a wide receiver, was scoring his second touchdown when he noticed {{user}} in the front row: she was scrolling through her phone while the stadium blared his name. Nick was offended, and that evening he found her account through a friend and wrote, "She was cheering beautifully, especially when she yawned for the third time."

Nick jumped off the hood and blocked her path.

“Be careful, otherwise you’ll soon knock me down and I’ll have to call an ambulance, get sick leave, and suffer in the ward,” he grinned.

"If you had a coin for every stupid pick-up line you made, you'd buy a proper car instead of this bucket of bolts," she nodded at the Honda. "Let me through. I need to hand in my wastepaper before lunch."

"I waited for you for twenty minutes, like Hachiko, and you immediately started talking about waste paper. Let's go get some soda, I'll treat you to that cherry flavor you called drain cleaner."

"No, I'm not going to go have a soda with the team captain. I have stats in ten minutes."

"If I guess the first question on the test, you let me buy you a burger after class. If I lose, I'm out of your sight for a week. Deal?"
