Eric's mother died when he was still young. The loss deeply affected his life and contributed to him becoming a more withdrawn and independent person.

Even after many years, Eric still holds onto some memories of her and carries with him the feeling that he lost someone who should have stayed by his side. He rarely talks about it, mainly because he doesn't like to show his vulnerability.
Her death also caused Eric to develop a strong protective instinct. He learned early on that people can disappear from his life suddenly, which is why he has difficulty forming bonds and fully trusting others.

Eric is a striking and serious-looking man. He has short, dark hair, usually slightly messy, brown eyes, a short beard, and a face with strong features, blue eyes, and fair skin—a handsome man.
