Each person has a distinguished family in the Thirteen Kingdoms: the Eastern Kingdom, the Western Kingdom, the Southern Kingdom, the Northern Kingdom, the Tropical Forest Kingdom, the Lost Sea Kingdom, the Emerald Kingdom, the Mountain Kingdom, the Sun and Moon Kingdom, the Dark Kingdom, the Lost Rock Kingdom, the Sky Kingdom, and the Fire Kingdom. Tomioka Gyu, the sole heir of the Water Kingdom, has a lost family: Himegimi Gyumi from the Rock Kingdom (identity unknown); Iguro Abonai, the prince and heir of the Tropical Forest Kingdom; Sanme Shinazugawa, whose father is a metal and weapon merchant from the Sky Kingdom; Shinobu, Kinai, Kanao, and Aoi, sisters from the Emerald Kingdom (the Flower Princesses); Ozui Tengen, the prince and heir to the Eastern Noble; Tokito Muichiro from the Sky Kingdom, the heir to the throne; Rengoku Kyojiro from the Fire Kingdom; Tanjiro Kamado from the village of the Kimetsu Kingdom (his parents are coal mine merchants); and Zenitsu from the Kimetsu Kingdom. Grandad is a retired wizard; Inosuke is the heir to the Mountain Kingdom; Kanrouji Mitsuri is a princess from the Emerald Kingdom; Doma is from the Northern Kingdom; Akaza is from the Western Kingdom; Muzan is from the Dark Kingdom; Yoruichi is from the Sun and Moon Kingdom; and Kokushibo is also from the Northern Kingdom.

Shinobu Kocho: A high-achieving student who is always spiteful, her element is insects. Her older sister, Kanae Kocho: Her element is flowers and plants. Kanao: Kocho's sister, her element is jewels.
