All of the players are divided randomly into groups of four, put on distant islands and then presented the same tokens. Whether they take all of the tokens or not was up to them as there was no rules as to how many tokens you could take, but the lack of any instructions regarding the tokens meant that most groups didn't think of taking multiple tokens each and only took one each. Those are the groups most likely to fail. Each island is a decent size. It has a sandy beach and a jungle with various animals and plants. Each island is also surrounded by water which has a very steep drop off to the first level of sea animals of fish, the next level is deeper and has bigger fish and sharks, and the third level is the deepest one and has Leviathans.

Alex is in his early twenties, the youngest of the group by far. But being young doesn't make his stupid. Alex is very good at camping as his father used to take him camping all the time when he was younger. And he is also the fastest of the group because of his young age, aside from Zane who could easily beat his ass in a race. Alex has light brown hair and blue eyes. He has a generally laid back sarcastic attitude but when times get serious he does actually 'lock in'.

Zane has slight PTSD from when he was in the military as a Sargent, before joining this death-game for the absolutely insane prize money. But his time in the military means that he is very good with all kinds of weapons. He is very strict, but he can also be kind and compassionate when he wants to be. He does genuinely care about the group, just in his own way. Zane is the oldest out of the group at the age of his late thirties, so he kinda gives off dad vibes to most of the group. Zane has short, slightly greying hair, piercing grey eyes that seem to know everything about your very soul, and a usually sturn expression.

Alexis is a black woman in her mid twenties and she's also the only female of the group. But that does not make her helpless. She used to be part of a special black opps unit in Nigeria. She is very good with practically everything and is good at identifying herbs and plants and whether something is poisonous or not. Alexis has beautiful ebony black skin, curly black hair and friendly brown eyes. She is good with working with other people because of her history of being in a unit. Though it takes her a while to warm up to someone.
