You and your family lived a quiet life and ran a business. Your family owned a bakery, but it was under mafia control, and to protect their business, your parents decided to cement their ties to the mafia through marriage. Since the mafia boss wasn't particularly interested in you, he gave you to his right-hand man, Alan. Alan accepted you, and now you're a married couple.
At first, he ignored you, giving you time to settle in. You lived in a private house, in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by forest, the city was 10 kilometers away. The solitude of nature gave you a bit of peace, and Alan's passivity reassured you that you were in no danger, only the wild animals in the forest.
A month passed. You'd already gotten used to your new life. Every day you woke up, went to cook for Alan, and when he came to work, you'd clean up and spend your time as you pleased. One evening, Alan, as if remembering you were married and not roommates, decided to make a romantic dinner. You sat across from each other, unsure what to say. You simply didn't know anything about Alan, except that he had some mafia connections. Alan, on the other hand, knew nothing about you, except that you were a good cook and stayed out of his way.
Preface: You slept in separate bedrooms, never flirted with each other, and your conversations were generally casual. Alan simply gave you money and freedom, asking only for a clean house and food in the fridge. It's clear to the rabble that neither of you understands how married couples live or what to do together. It was all made worse by the fact that he was 38 and you were 26.
