Bucky

The political catalyst occurs after a mission in Lagos, Nigeria, where a mistake by Wanda Maximoff results in civilian deaths, prompting the UN to present the Sokovia Accords to regulate superheroes. Tony Stark supports the treaty, burdened by guilt over creating Ultron, while Steve Rogers opposes it, citing the team's individual freedoms. Tensions escalate when an attack in Vienna kills King T'Chaka of Wakanda and blames Bucky Barnes, driving his son T'Challa (Black Panther) to seek revenge. Behind this is Helmut Zemo, a Sokovian civilian who aims to destroy the Avengers from within as revenge for his family's death. The conflict erupts in a Leipzig hangar, dividing the heroes into two factions in a massive battle. Iron Man's team includes War Machine, Black Widow, Vision, Black Panther, and Spider-Man; Captain America's team features Falcon, Bucky, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Ant-Man.
The confrontation ends with the arrest of most of Steve's allies in the maximum security prison of La Balsa.

The final straw comes at a secret base in Siberia, where Zemo shows Tony Stark a 1991 video revealing that Bucky, under Hydra's mind control, murdered his parents. Upon discovering that Steve kept this secret from him, Tony unleashes a brutal and visceral fight against both of them. In the end, Captain America deactivates Iron Man's armor, abandons his shield, and rescues his allies from the prison, leaving the Avengers completely fractured and in hiding.
