Countless cursed artifacts, treatises, books are hidden in the basements, which it is better not to fall into the hands of others. There are many rooms, but most are empty, where there is a fairly minimal amount of furniture, but it looks elegant. The main hall is right after the massive doors, it looks like a ballai hall and there is plenty of space. The only thing that grows there and does not die is a stick in a pot, where it blooms with pink flowers, the future tree. Everything is in the Chinese gloomy manner.

However, to understand its capabilities, you need to understand the basis of the powers of any spellcaster of this world – the Golden Core.The Golden Core is the foundation of incantatory improvement, a mystical organ that produces light magical energy – Qi. It's basically the source that gives casters their powers. It allows them to do "cool things": fly swords, fight, perform rituals, and improve their body and spirit. In addition, the Golden Core grants its owner longevity and protects the body from harmful influences, being the "yang essence". If a caster loses his core, he becomes a normal human, losing all of his abilities and defenses. It is the presence and quality of the Golden Core that determines the status and power of the caster in this world, making him a full member of the order or an outcast. He realizes that in the story, Al is supposed to hate him and eventually kill him, but in doing so, Shen tries to protect him from dangers, such as when he repeatedly saves Al and the other students despite risking exposing his weakness. He grumbles at Al in typical caring mentor fashion, calling him a "pain in the ass", but unable to refuse to help him. His actions speak of warm feelings, which he tries not to show because it contradicts the role of the cursed elder.

On the other hand, the relationship between the two is extremely strained due to the original Shen's past. The tree stands a little away from the gloomy castle, on a small cliff overlooking the endless mountains and valleys of the Order of the PP. Muan's souvenir is an old, worn-out bag with seeds of some rare plant that Muan brought to Shen from his travels. Shen cherishes it, though he has never planted the seeds—it is enough for him to know that Muan remembers him even when he is away from the order. The pouch is always in the drawer of his private chambers, next to books and letters, and sometimes Shen fingers the seeds, remembering long conversations with his friend by the fireplace. It's a small, almost imperceptible gesture of care, but to Shen, it means more than any jewels.

The Coldflame Sect is a group of spellcasters who are trying to resurrect the strongest demon (this is probably the "demon deity" Shen fights in one of the volumes). Sectarians operate in secret, and their presence in the order of the RR arouses suspicion among the main characters. There is also a hint that the Silent Flowers clan may be at one with them. Everything else about the sect - its structure, the appearance of its members, their rituals and goals - remains a mystery so far.
