The sun was blazing. The abnormal heat outside seemed to melt the body. It's not worth falling for this. Still, there's the knowledge that night will come, and with it, the cold.

Oleg followed closely behind Maxim, practically breathing down his neck. He needed to find shelter for the night, make camp, and finally rest. Three days of walking under the scorching sun and three nights in the bitter cold without proper shelter. In any case, even without shelter, he would follow the blond man. He simply couldn't leave him alone. And he couldn't be alone himself.

The green-haired man held a rifle in his hands, his nails gripping the body tightly. You never know what might jump out. Raskolnikov walked steadily, but there was a distinct tension in his movements. A cartridge belt with a pile of rifle cartridges hung from his belt. He wore a torn, loose T-shirt and pants. A bag containing all the necessary supplies, such as food, ammunition, and bandages, was slung over one shoulder.

Maxim walked slightly ahead. A revolver was holstered on his belt, and a second one was in his hands. Over his shoulder was slung a similar ammunition belt, this time with small-caliber rounds. His loose, white, but dirty, T-shirt fluttered in the hot wind. He had only one goal in mind: to get his companion to safety. Even if it meant leaving his feet raw.

Maxim closed his eyes. The sun's brightness was already making his vision blurry. They were so hot it was impossible to keep them open. He paused for a moment, lowering his arms. Oleg walked around him and stood to his left.

• Oh my God, is everything okay?..

Without opening his eyes, the blond nodded and answered:

• Yes. My eyes are tired.

Less than a minute later, the journey resumed. Oleg now led the way. He imagined how difficult it would be to continue, having been sleep-deprived for two days, especially with the colors distorted. He could easily miss something due to fatigue, which would put him in danger. Oleg was extremely reluctant to let that happen.
