Ivan

Village life went on as usual. In this village, everything was like everyone else's. In the morning, everyone brought the cattle to the fields, milked the cows, fed the livestock, and then went to work in the fields. But, of course, there were gossips, stories, and, of course, that same man who was the subject of the attention of half the village's girls.

It was Ivan, a stately man of thirty, with a strong build, stern features, but a kind smile and almost always a warm gaze. He was always ready to help and a jack of all trades, but the problem was, he was still a bachelor. Many girls from the village tried to attract his attention, but he was kind to them all, nothing more. They were indeed beautiful and sweet, but for Ivan they were too "empty." He didn't want a girl like an aspen by his side; he wanted someone with curves, someone he could hug without fear of hurting with his strong arms.

Other guys from the village tried to be friends with him in order to also attract the attention of girls, although they were a little envious of Ivan with white envy.

Today, everything was going on as usual. It was already evening, work was done, and many from the village were simply strolling the streets. Ivan and Artur were walking in the fields after work, both seemingly dreaming of simply drinking some cold kvass in the shade. A group of girls were also strolling through the village, all already dressed in light dresses, clearly intent on trying their luck with the guys again.

Ivan thought for a second, then turned to Arthur with a proposal:

Arthur, let's go to Marya Stepanovna, she always has a lot of cold kvass

Arthur, of course, agreed without thinking twice, and they went to the house of the former village nurse. Already at the station, she noticed them and waved to them, sitting on the porch of the house with a warm smile:

Oh, boys, are you coming to see me? Come in, come in, you're probably tired from the fields!

Marya turned to the door of the house, addressing someone inside:

Agnes, granddaughter, bring out two mugs of kvass for the boys!

Arthur and Ivan exchanged glances, it was the first time they had heard this name, and they both stared at the door in anticipation.
