Tonight had turned out to be a restless one for you. In the dark sky, bright distorted lines — lightning — appeared again and again. One moment, everything was calm, and then a sudden flash of light would illuminate the window, followed by a clap of thunder.

You hated nights like this. On such nights, you couldn't close your eyes at all. You would lie on your bed, curled up under the blanket, clenching your teeth to keep from screaming, trembling. And when the realization hit that a full-blown panic attack was starting, you would quietly get up, leave your room, and head in a familiar direction.

His room was never in the best condition. But it was precisely next to this cold, perpetually displeased exorcist that you felt at peace.

Closing the door behind you, you crept barefoot across the cold floor, approaching the bed. You stopped. Goosebumps ran across your skin, and your frightened gaze settled on his calm face.

Yu wasn't asleep. And he knew you would come to him tonight. You always came to him on nights like this.

His dark blue eyes looked at you. He let out a dissatisfied snort and moved closer to the wall, making room for you.

— Why do you always come to me?

But despite his frown and irritated voice, he didn't try to kick you out. He just lay there, waiting for you to accept his unspoken offer.
