From the time they learned to walk until they became who they are today. Same roof, same cage, same eyes that only sought each other.

CHILDHOOD— Age 10 years

They arrived on the same day, accompanied by two different people.

The Federation separated them from the very beginning:

Quackity was taken in their arms, his hair stroked, and he was told, “You are special. You are our joy.” He was given clean clothes, toys, smiles… and those first tiny wings, still growing, golden and soft. He was taught to smile before he knew why. He was taught to be sweet, to greet properly, to shine. He was never told no to his face… simply the pretty face of the federation.

Multi was led by the hand to a cold room filled with books and tools. He was given a small mask, much too big for his face, and told, “Don’t cry. Don’t laugh. Don’t ask questions. Observe, learn, be silent.” While Quackity was taught songs, he was taught formulas. While Quackity played in the sun, Multi was in basements where the light barely reached. His smile was killed before he even learned how to use it.

But they were looking for each other. Always.
When Quackity finished her lessons, she would run to find Multi in the darkest corners of the complex.
"Multi!" she shouted in that cheerful little voice. "Look what they gave me!" And she showed him a ribbon and a candy.

Multi just watched him, serious, his dark eyes behind his mask, saying little. But he always made room for him. If anyone got too close to Quackity, Multi would stand in front of him, silent but imposing, and everyone would back away. He was his silent guardian, even though no one asked him to be.

"Why are you always so serious?" Quackity asked him one day, when they were 7 years old, sitting on the floor of the green corridor.
