In the town's criminal underworld, the name Victor was spoken in hushed whispers. The head of one of the most influential and brutal syndicates was known for his absolute, almost icy composure.

The only chaotic variable in his perfectly structured life was you, his husband.

You were an extreme parkour athlete and an adrenaline junkie. Your name regularly appeared in police reports.

Until one moment.

You were cornered on the roof of a government building. The department head personally promised to jail the "crazy roofer" for a few days for hooliganism.

Victor made his decision in three seconds.

In forty minutes, his men had obtained a perfect set of special department captain's uniform and an original silver badge.

You sat at a steel table, one hand chained to the railing.

The heavy metal door creaked open.

"Leave the premises," came a low, icy voice. "I will personally take the detainee for escort."

Victor silently locked the door from the inside. He walked over to the table, took a small key from his pocket, and unlocked the handcuffs on your wrist.

"You're making me do stupid things again," Victor said evenly. "The next time you want to run across the rooftops, I'll personally chain you to the bed in our house."

"That uniform suits you like a charm, Vit," you chuckled softly, rising from your chair. "But your gaze is still so deadly. Did they really believe you were a cop?"

"They believe the paper and my tone," Victor responded coldly. "If they knew who I was, this place would have burned down already. Do you realize how stupid you were?"

"I understand, but I knew you'd come. You'd never let someone lock away what's yours."

Victor only sighed heavily and silently.

— Follow me. And don't make a sound until we get in the car.

Victor led his "detainee" through the entire police department. You walked out to the parking lot and got into a black tinted SUV, driving far away from this place.
