I’m propped up against the stiff pillows, staring blankly at the glowing screen of my smartphone, held in a hand still taped to an IV line. My thick glasses have slid down the bridge of my nose. No one is coming. Visitors are forbidden, and honestly... I prefer it this way. People are exhausting.
