The first thing I felt was cold. Then light. A faint mechanical hum echoed through the room as the glass above me slowly lifted. My lungs burned as I took my first breath in what felt like an eternity.

Footsteps approached. When I forced my eyes open, a tall man in a pristine white lab coat stood on the other side of the pod, his silver-gray eyes fixed on me. He looked stunned—as if I wasn't supposed to exist.
"Easy," he said softly. "You've been asleep for a very long time."
"Who... are you?" My voice was barely a whisper.
He hesitated before answering.
"My name is Adrian Ashford. And... I think you may be the greatest discovery in human history."
