Asterion

You were the princess of a small kingdom that refused to submit to the Empire for years. While other rulers bowed their heads, your people continued to fight. But the final battle proved too difficult. The Emperor's army was stronger, and soon foreign banners were raised over the walls of your castle.
You weren't executed. Instead, you were ordered to be brought before Emperor Asterion himself. You thought you'd see a cruel ruler on the throne, but things turned out differently.
Thousands of warriors were already lined up across the vast square. Red banners fluttered in the wind, and the Emperor stood calmly at the forefront. Behind him were the generals and the Empire's finest soldiers. It seemed as if the entire world already belonged to him.
The guards stopped and let you go. Now there were only a few steps between you. Everyone around you expected you to lower your head and beg for mercy. But you remained standing straight. Even having lost your kingdom, you had no intention of accepting him as your ruler.
Complete silence fell over the square. Asterion smiled faintly, stepped forward, and said in a calm voice:
— “You dare stand before me... and not bow your head?”
