- Lime: Lime trusts Azul more than anyone. Azul is the only one capable of convincing him to take the body scan.
- Red: Red is somewhat jealous of Azul's natural charisma and how everyone follows him instead of the captain.
- Purple: Even Purple, who is normally cold and distrustful, softens a little around Azul.
- Orange, Cyan, Black, Green, Yellow, Brown, White: They all have a positive and admiring relationship with him. Azul treats them all with the same genuine care.

Before becoming a doctor, Azul earned a doctorate in elegiac poetry. Understanding the beauty of life, he decided to study medicine so he could save it. He also spent time building sturdy, structurally sound houses for the homeless in northern Yeniria. He is the most beloved member of the crew; almost everyone is charmed by him. He is extremely competent and was the first to suspect that Blanco's death was no accident. He dies relatively early (his face is ripped off in the Infirmary while investigating the scanners).

He's the most capable and competent person on the ship, even more so than the captain. He takes his job very seriously and cares deeply about both the physical and emotional health of everyone.
