Meka Squadron

History
Seung-hwa Shi is the youngest pilot in the squadron. He was recruited along with the others (mostly pro-gamers) when MEKA needed human pilots to fight the Gwishin.

In the short film "Shooting Star," he participates in the defense of Busan. His mecha is severely damaged, and D.Mon helps him out of it. He appears at the subsequent press conference with a bandage on his forehead.

In the New Blood comic, during Null Sector's attack on Busan, he remains on the ground alongside Casino and D.Mon. When the situation escalates, he exits his mech to repair Casino and King's while Baptiste protects him with an immortality field. Once repaired, he rejoins the fight and participates in the synchronized attack that forces the enemy command ship to retreat. Afterward, he thanks Overwatch for their assistance.

D.Va considers him the best pilot she knows (she even mentions him to Tracer).

Appearance
Pilot: A young man with a gentler, more "harmless" appearance than the other male pilots. He has a more youthful and gentle look. In Shooting Star, he appears injured (bandage on his forehead).

Mecha Mastermind:
Main color blue.
He is the smallest in the squad.
VTOL/flight configuration (it has no legs, but circular thrusters on the sides).

Equipped with deployable drones, a gatling gun at the base, and servos with claws.
Design focused on drone support and control (inspired by StarCraft units, such as the Zerg Overlord and the Banshee).

Personality
He is the team's strategist: he specializes in tactical support and drone control.

It has more of a support role (repairs, coordination) than a direct combat role.
Although he is the youngest, he is very competent and D.Va trusts him completely.

He seems calmer and more thoughtful than King (impulsive) or Casino (charismatic and relaxed).

History
Before joining MEKA, Jae-eun Kwon was a Formula One (or high-level) racing driver with a very flamboyant and "flashy" personality. He was recruited along with the others for his exceptional reflexes when the Gwishin began interfering with the mecha's remote control.
He participated in the defense of Busan against the Gwishin. In the short film "Shooting Star," he is wounded: he appears at the subsequent press conference with bandages on his face and his right arm in a sling. Afterward, he goes on leave with the rest of the squad (except for D.Va, who stays behind working on her mech).
In the New Blood comic, during Null Sector's attack on Busan, Casino (along with D.Mon and Overlord) remains on the ground fighting the ground forces while D.Va and King attempt to attack the command ship. His mech is overwhelmed by enemy Slicers and reports that the main weapons system is offline, ordering a retreat.

Appearance
Pilot: A tall Korean man with white/silver hair and a completely uncovered forehead (unlike the other pilots who have black hair). He has a cooler and more elegant style.

Mecha La Princesse Sereine (“Princess Serena”):

Main color green (with black details).
Elegant, angular and stylized design (the most “refined” of the squad).

Equipped with dual cannons in the arms.
Focused on speed and mobility

Personality
According to official lore:
Relaxed, confident, and charismatic.
He likes to joke around and maintain a lighthearted atmosphere.

Despite his easygoing attitude, he is a very capable pilot who remains calm even in the most dangerous situations.
He has the typical "flashy" style of a former racing driver: he likes to attract attention and moves with style.

History
Before joining MEKA, Kyung-soo Han was Hana Song's (D.Va) main esports rival in the game Mecha Guardian V. Both were stars of the Korean competitive circuit.
When the government recruited pro-gamers to pilot mechs (after the Gwishin interfered with the drones' remote control), he was one of those selected, along with D.Va, D.Mon, and the others. He became a member of the MEKA Squad under Captain Myung's command.

He participated in the defense of Busan against the Gwishin (he was wounded in one of those battles). In the comic New Blood, during Null Sector's attack on Busan, Captain Myung orders him and D.Va to attack the enemy command ship. King rushes ahead due to his impulsiveness, taking a hit that disables his main thrusters and temporarily knocks him out of action. Later, Overlord repairs his mech, and the entire squadron launches a synchronized attack that forces the ship to retreat.

He is currently still active in the MEKA Squad defending South Korea.

Appearance
Pilot: A young Korean man with an intellectual appearance. He wears glasses. He has a more serious and "nerdy-gamer" look compared to the rest of the squadron.
Mecha Singijeon (신기전 = “Divine Weapon”, a reference to the ancient Korean arrow rockets of the Joseon Dynasty):
Main color: yellow.

It is the thinnest/slimest of the five wicks.
Armament: twin cannons in arms and knees + missile pods on shoulders.
Combat style oriented towards medium- to long-range artillery/fire support.

Personality
According to official lore:
Impulsive and competitive.
Brave and determined: he throws himself into combat without hesitation.
His personality contrasts with the calmness of other squad members (especially Overlord or Casino).

He retains the competitive spirit of his pro-gamer days: he always wants to prove that he is the best.

Pilot: A young Korean woman with long or medium-length curly purple hair. She wears a form-fitting, bright indigo/blue pilot's suit (bodysuit). She has a more serious and mature look than D.Va.
Mecha Beast: Large, robust, and predominantly red. A humanoid design, heavier and more "tank-like" than Tokki (D.Va's). It features:

She joined MEKA Squad (along with D.Va, King, Casino, and Overlord) under Captain Myung's command. She is described as one of the most experienced pilots and currently serves as the squad's leader/main assault force (especially following D.Va's reassignment to Overwatch).

Yuna Lee is tough and protective of her team. She has a more serious, disciplined, and leadership-oriented character than the energetic and "diva" D.Va.
He is the type of person who takes charge in crisis situations (“MEKA Squad, on me!”).
He prioritizes protecting civilians and his colleagues, even if it means disobeying orders.
Loyal, responsible, and squad-minded.
Less "show" and more professional/military than D.Va, although it still has the competitive gamer background.

Physical appearance: Young Korean woman with a slim, youthful appearance and of average to short height. Dark black hair (often with pink highlights or partially dyed pink), styled in a high ponytail or gamer style. Large, expressive eyes.

D.Va projects an image of a confident, playful, and extremely competitive diva. Her signature phrase is "I play to win!"

She is cheerful, sarcastic, and constantly uses gamer slang (“Nerf this!”, “GG”, “AFK”, “pocket healer”, etc.).

She has an arrogant and somewhat boastful side: she thinks she's the best and she shows it.

He loves the spotlight, streams his matches, and enjoys interacting with fans (he signs autographs for Reinhardt or Lúcio without hesitation).

He is very loyal to his MEKA Squad comrades, especially Dae-hyun.

He likes engineering (he's constantly improving Tokki), Pachimari, and Lúcio's music.
However, behind the carefree facade lies a person under immense pressure. He bears the responsibility of protecting his country and his squad, and feels the emotional weight of battles (especially visible in Shooting Star). He is mentally strong, a hard worker, and shows no weakness in front of the media. He also has a more reflective and adventurous side (he is fascinated by Mei's travel journal).
Pilot suit: A pink and black bodysuit with tech details, sponsor logos (Korean esports style), and light armor elements. It features a headband with rabbit ears (her signature motif).

Outside of the mecha: She looks smaller and more vulnerable. Sometimes she wears headphones or glasses.

Mecha Tokki (“rabbit” in Korean): A bright pink mecha with rabbit ears, twin fusion cannons, boosters, and a defense matrix. It is highly customized with stickers and colors from its sponsors.

Hana Song was born on June 22nd in Busan, South Korea (she is currently 21 years old). She grew up playing classic video games with her father, a former pro gamer, who introduced her to the competitive world. From a young age, she was friends with Dae-hyun Park, her future mechanic.
In high school, she became a star of Mecha Guardian V, reaching the world number one ranking and winning the world championship. She was a fierce competitor who showed no mercy and outperformed rivals such as Kyung-soo Han (King) and her teammate Yuna Lee (D.Mon).

When the Gwishin omnics (emerging from the East China Sea) began interfering with the remote control of the MEKA (Mobile Exo-Force of the Korean Army) mechs, the Korean government recruited pro-gamers for their exceptional reflexes. Nineteen-year-old Hana left esports fame behind and joined the MEKA Squad under Captain Myung. She saw the mission as the next step in her career.

She quickly became the squadron's star pilot (pilot of the Tokki mecha). She began live-streaming her battles, becoming a global icon with sponsorships and a huge fan base.

In the animated short "Shooting Star," her more human side is revealed: after a surprise attack by the Gwishin, the rest of her squad is incapacitated, and she must defend Busan alone. Her mecha is severely damaged, and recalling a childhood hoverbike accident, she decides to overload the reactor (the origin of her ultimate Self-Destruct ability). She survives with injuries (a broken arm and leg), but the media conceals this to maintain her image as an "invincible heroine."

Later, after helping Overwatch repel a Null Sector attack in Busan (New Blood comic), Captain Myung temporarily assigns her to Overwatch to assess the situation.
