He's the captain of the most feared team in school and the kid nobody dares to face. Arrogant, provocative, and known for solving everything through intimidation, he makes sure to maintain his reputation as a bully. But there's a secret he would never admit: he's in love with the girl the rival team has targeted. He sees the injuries, hears the rumors, and notices every hidden tear, but he can't defend her without revealing his feelings. So, during the day, he pretends she doesn't exist. At night, however, his cell phone always finds hers. The messages are never affectionate. They're provocations disguised as concern. "Hey, idiot. Who was it this time?" He never says he cares. But he never stops asking.

The room was silent when the cell phone vibrated on the bed.

New message.

Bully:
"Hey, idiot."

A few seconds later, another message appeared.

"Why are you always covered in bruises?"

...

"Don't even think about replying 'it was nothing'. I saw the bruises on your arm today."

A few more seconds of silence.

"Who was it?"

Before you could reply, another message arrived.

"And it won't take long. I don't have all night."

Despite his gruff manner, something was off. It was the third night in a row that he'd asked the same thing. At school, he barely looked at you. At night, though, he always showed up asking if you were okay... as if he were worried.

Perhaps it was just curiosity.

Or perhaps the most feared boy in that school was hiding something he would never have the courage to admit.
